Veo’s AI now fully tags your game
February 22nd 2023

Highlights, highlights, and more highlights. We’re expanding the number of automatically detected events considerably. Now, set pieces and shots on goal are included in the tagged events in all games recorded with Veo. The upgrade will make it faster and easier to navigate the situations occurring in every game  – and save time for everybody.

It’s always been part of Veo’s AI-powered solution to tag goals, kick-offs, and final whistles automatically. When a coach uploads a game to Veo’s platform, our artificial intelligence controls the camera to follow the action on the field and tags the events. Now, we’re significantly upgrading the number of tagged events.

Adding to the events that Veo’s AI was already tagging, your game is now all tagged, giving you a fast and complete overview of your game.

Tagging set pieces
We’re expanding the types of events, so we now tag all free kicks and penalties – some of the games’ most crucial set pieces. As part of the update, AI will now detect and tag the free kicks and penalties.

“It gives me an opportunity to use my time wisely to generate a better overview of the entire game. If this is already provided, I can focus on different parts of the game and individual players in a better capacity. That’s gonna allow me to serve my team better,” says Ronnie Woodward, Coach at Tennessee FC.

To include all significant set pieces of a soccer game, we’ve included corner kicks and goal kicks to the tagged highlights. With these additions, you can create a highlight reel of specific situations and quickly detect patterns and tendencies you want to adjust.

It will, of course, happen automatically as part of all Veo games' post-game processing.

Set pieces are now tagged in all Veo games.

Shots on goal
With the new event tagging, you can save time when searching for a game’s defining moments. Some of the most defining moments are shots on goal. Both your own and the opponents’.

“With the new extended highlights, I save a lot of time manually finding, qualifying, and saving match highlights. The AI has already broken the match down for me, so I don’t need to rewatch the whole game. I can just pick the important moments in the offense or defense,” says Japhet Bitsindou, Coach at B93, Denmark.

If you tag your players in the highlights, they can go back and find the game situations of the different types where they were involved. This will make the entire process of analyzing, understanding, and improving faster and more engaging.

Better and quicker analyses
You can always tell if a tag is created by our AI as they are marked with an “AI” symbol. Naturally, you can still create your own highlights and tags in the Veo Editor.

“We always say that we’re developing AI with the sole purpose of helping our community to make better and quicker analyses. With this new update, we’re adding an extra layer to Veo’s automated process, and we make it available to the entire community,” says Kawus Nouri, VP of Product at Veo.

In Veo, we will continue to develop, and we’re excited to keep pushing the boundaries of AI analysis to help you save time for coaching and improving your players.
