Club Thorne Colliery F.C. player Dom Mellor scored an outstanding goal from outside the box in the impressive 7-2 win against Yorkshire Amateur A.F.C. Like any other of the team’s matches, it was recorded with a Veo camera.

The match between Club Thorne Colliery F.C. and Yorkshire Amateur A.F.C. in the Northern Counties East Football League Premier Division (NCEL) will not only be remembered for the impressive 7-2 victory by the away team Club Thorne Colliery F.C. It will also be remembered for Dom Mellor’s outstanding goal, where he struck the ball from outside the box, smashing it into the net.

A clearance from the defense landed on the left side, where the away teams’ Dom Mellor decisively struck the ball and sent it soaring into the top corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.

We had a chat with the main man himself about his stunning goal, which was captured on the club’s Veo camera.

“When you hit a shot like that, as soon as it leaves your boot, you just know it’s going in. It floated in the air longer than I expected, and everyone was just waiting for it to hit the back of the net,” Dom Mellor said about the goal, which has since been shared numerous times on social media.

“I didn’t realize it would go viral. It’s the first time anything like this has happened for me, so it’s rewarding to see it in my footballing career,” Dom Mellor expressed.

The player himself admits he has watched the goal many times.

“I’ve watched it more times than I’ve had hot dinners since I scored it. So quite a lot!”

On the pitch, Dom Mellor didn’t fully grasp how good the goal actually was. However, his teammates and the Veo recording after the match showed him its true quality.

“The lads from the dugout had the best view, as shown on the Veo as well. They said it was one of the best goals they had ever seen. I didn’t really understand until I looked back on the Veo.”

Club Thorne Colliery F.C. records all of their matches with the Veo camera, which is a great asset for Dom Mellor and his teammates.

“Veo is one of the best things to happen to non-league football, allowing us to review games to see what we could improve and what works well in our play. And, of course, to watch back the screamers!” Dom Mellor added.

“It helps the team and myself see the games from a different perspective, especially when you’re on the pitch. It’s hard to see what we could do better. But with Veo, it provides the opportunity to analyze the whole game with highlights.”
