Swedish Simon “Bicicleta” Hammenstrand scored a fantastic bicycle kick goal, captured on Pukebergs BK's Veo camera and shared on social media.
At the edge of the penalty area, Simon Hammenstrand watched his teammates play on the left wing. After a few passes, Pukebergs BK's left winger sent the ball into the area where Hammenstrand was positioned. He moved back a few meters, launched himself into the air, and smashed the ball past a helpless Hossmo BK goalkeeper with a superb bicycle kick, making the final score 6-1 in the Svenska Division 4.
Shortly after the final whistle, the goal was shared on social media, where it quickly went viral and looked like a contender for the 2024 People’s Puskas Award.
For the goalscorer himself, now known as Simon “Bicicleta” Hammenstrand, the goal and game were his first in a long time.
“This was my first game in a year, so I felt I needed to show my potential. I like to put on a ‘show’ on the field, and this cross ball that my teammate Emil passed was just too perfect not to try a bicycle kick. I just had to!” says Hammenstrand.

The club, media from around the world, and Veo have shared the goal on social media, and Hammenstrand has watched it quite a few times himself.
“I want to be cool and say that I’ve just watched it once, but I have actually seen it probably 200 times,” he says before he continues:
“I really enjoy that it’s gone viral, but at the same time, it’s just a goal. It just happened, and it went in. It’s not like I do this every game, but I’m definitely going to keep trying.”
“Veo has really made us better as a team”
Fortunately for Hammenstrand, the club had their Veo camera at their home ground, Pukevallen. All games are recorded with Veo, but after what the club calls the best goal ever at home, they tried to fool the scorer into thinking the goal hadn’t been recorded.
“I’m so happy we have Veo. It’s so much more fun to play now because you know everything gets captured. At first, my team joked and said we didn’t record the game, and I was like, ‘Are you kidding me!? We didn’t get that?!’. But they just laughed and said, "Of course, we filmed the game.”
The club records both their home and away games, and while it’s great to capture fantastic goals, it also helps Hammenstrand and his teammates in games where things might not go as planned. After each match, analysis sessions are held to review the latest game.
“I love the quality; it really doesn’t miss anything. Veo has really made us better as a team. If a game doesn’t work out how we want, we go through it in the next training, discuss it, and watch the footage. The same goes if we play well. It really is good to see yourself play from another angle. It has improved my movement and game understanding massively. I can only recommend it for all players and teams,” he concludes.
