Richmond Rugby is using Veo to improve rugby players at all levels
We had the exciting opportunity to visit one of the oldest rugby clubs in England, Richmond Rugby Football Club. We had a chat with some of the coaches and players to hear their perspectives on video recording in rugby and the use of Veo’s artificial intelligence solution for video analysis.
Richmond aims to be the most inspiring and inclusive community rugby club, promoting rugby excellence, enjoyment, and friendship. The club is using Veo across their club and is therefore giving all the opportunity to utilise the technology to the first teams, academy, and community.
Established in 1861, it was a founding member of the Rugby Football Union, and today the club is one of the largest teams in the UK with over 2,700 members.

Working with video technology and analysis
Mark Cadogan is an RFU Level 3 coach with extensive experience working with elite performance and player pathway environments. His and the other coaches' work at Richmond revolves around coach education and development. By using the automatic sports camera Veo, the club is assisting coaches through their advanced course assessments. Richmond uses Veo’s AI camera technology to record and analyse training and competitive matches to help coaches drive performance standards throughout the club.
With the use of technology it will help the coaches with the recorded footage to provide valuable feedback with the purpose of encouraging players to strengthen areas of their game and prepare themselves for upcoming fixtures.
